Amy Convery

Amy has been dancing since the age of 3, starting off in Latin and Ballroom styles and quickly increasing her classes to Ballet, Jazz, Modern, Tap, Street, Contemporary and Irish dance. She has performed in many shows from a young age, including Beauty and the Beast Jr, Annie Jr, A Chorus Line, Cinderella Pantomime and many others. She also has a background competing, winning the All Ireland Irish Dancing Championships in Dublin in 2012. She made the decision to move to London when she was 18 to train at Laine Theatre Arts and she graduated in 2024 with a Diploma in Dance and Musical Theatre, as well as a BAHons degree in Musical Theatre. Since being at Laine Amy has performed in the annual summer show for three years running as a dancer and she also played Christine in A Chorus Line swing project and Mrs. Tottendale in her third year musical, The Drowsy Chaperone. Amy has also had professional contracts, including The Wizard of Oz Pantomime as ensemble and more recently, Dick Whittington where she played the lead role of Alice Fitzwarren. She can also be seen Dancing in the film Better Man, which came out earlier this year. Amy is thrilled to be teaching for Dance Shack, guiding young people into the profession she loves and helping them find as much joy in dance as she does.
